Fourth grade was busy putting their math skills to the test. Each group had a large pumpkin and an investigation booklet. Students had to measure the height and circumference of the pumpkin in inches and centimeters. Students also weighed their pumpkins before and after counting all of the seeds. Next, they rounded their findings, multiplied by 10 and 100, added, subtracted. Compared their pumpkin findings to other groups and found their differences and ranked their findings with other groups in order from greatest to least. Students also grouped their seeds into groups of 10s, 50s, etc to find their amount as well as naming and decorating their pumpkin.
